Hot off the back of the recent global fashion weeks and now that the Beast from the East has finally buggered off and left behind his soggy entrails, I thought that I would turn my attention to Spring and particularly the seasonal trends to look out for.
I do love the Springtime. All those lambs larking about, daffodils dancing and my Franco getting extra frisky!
Spring is full of such fresh hope and vitality. Until it rains and puts a dampener on things.
Turns out though that Anoraks are making a big come back this Spring so for once the fashion forward set have come up with a wearable every day trend that us regular peeps can enjoy.
There are in fact loads of really lovely go to trends this season that you can mix and match to stay fashionably ahead of the crowd.
But before you be so bold as to get your peep toes out, you might want to think about layering a little. “Don’t cast a clout till May is out” as the Old English phrase goes. Basically translated as, "t’s going to be brass monkeys till at least June so don’t pack away the roll neck sweaters just yet!!!"
So what are we talking for Spring 2018? Well I am glad you asked!!
We’re talking stripes, mixed prints, satin, pastels and what I am coining “upcycled denim”. You heard it here first ladies. Mark my word it will become a “thing”.
So what does all of that look like and which of the predicted hot trends will you be wearing?
I’ve pulled together a few of my favourite looks for each of the new spring season trends.
This is my mini curated look book designed to provide you with some inspiration to go shopping this weekend. I picked all of these from my favourite on-line site for fashion inspo, www.net-a-porter.com but as I uncover and buy for myself more affordable high street faves I will post a blog update. I've not been shopping yet this year but this little lot has certainly got me hot under the collar and chomping at the bit for a Selfridges trip.
(Then again, the hotness could be those pre-menopausal flushes flaring up!)
In no particular order………
Always loved a stripe. So nautical but nice. You can't go wrong with a bit of Breton!
I’m happy to report that loads of these trends are incredibly wearable no matter what your age or your budget. OK so the Balenciaga anorak may be a stretch too far but who doesn’t love a bit of colour blocking or a Breton stripe?
Hope you have lots of fun planning out your own Spring wardrobe but head my words – don’t pack away all your woolies just yet, Beastie might be getting ready to rear his ugly head again!
Much love and fabulousness,
