Lactic acid is amongst the most popular of the AHA’s, short for alpha hydroxy acids, and is incredibly popular in skincare today. It's also the L in today's entry into the A-Z of skincare hall of fame.
Contrary to the sound of this ingredient, it’s not something to be scared of but rather embraced and loved as its going to be your wing woman in the fight against the appearance of wrinkles, other visible signs of ageing and is fabulous at reducing acne breakouts and sloughing away old, dead skin calls.
Result being, plumper, fresher skin and a reduction in age related spots and pigmentation. See the amazing example below from a favourite new skincare brand of mine of the kind results you can expect to achieve for yourself.
It works to promote collagen production in the deeper levels of the epidermis and is a truly exceptional exfoliant. All of this means your skin is prepped and primed ready to really welcome and absorb all those lovely moisturisers you’ve invested your hard earned money in! When skin is regularly treated with a lactic acid based product it becomes super receptive to soaking up all the beneficial goodness of your other products, allowing them to really penetrate and do their job.
With regular use, you can expect to fight the signs of acne, hyper pigmentation, age spots and enjoy highly moisturized, soft, healthy and bouncy skin.
I’ve just started to use some of the products from the Alpha H range.
The line was developed by Michelle Doherty who battled herself with adult acne, something I can whole heartedly smypathise with. Seems these days that for one reason or another I am experiencing more breakouts than ever before, despite being my healthiest nutritionally wise and really taking good care of my skin.
For me, I think it’s a hormonally age related endemic but for any else who’s been troubled at all by adult acne, this range is a god send and the glowing testimonials prove how well it works. Women all over the world now turn to this brand whenever they want to banish blemishes, even out their skin tone or generally, like me, want to hang on to the radiant glow of their youth. (well TRY to anyway).
I’m currently using a couple of products from their Liquid Gold range, including the original overnight serum and delighted with the results. It's award winning in its native country, Australia. TVSN is the biggest shopping channel down in Oz and the ladies know a thing or too about skincare and especially the damaging effect that the sun can have. After all, the lucky buggers get to spend far more time in it then we do here in Blighty.
On that note though a heavy word of caution from yours truly.
Whilst it might be like having a facial whilst you sleep, don’t forget to apply a high factor SPF before you head out into the sun! You should always be including an SPF anyway but naughty me forgot last Sunday when it reached 24 degrees here in Brentwood and having given myself a full at home facial the day before using their Soothing and Perfecting Mask with Lavender, my skin was super smooth and exfoliated and by Monday super pink and tight too!!!
Yup, this original red head really does need to mind those rays.
This range gets a MAHUSIVE thumbs up from me and is worth testing out for yourself. I bought my products from Cult Beauty which is my go to favourite on-line store for innovative and, you got it, cult brands. They don't sponsor me nor am I on their affiliate programme - yet! Hoping however that they will eventually pick up on my posts targeted at us over forties women and realise that I should be one of their contributing bloggers! It's on my vision board for 2017! A CULT BLOGGER!
In the meantime, keep checking back for all my tried and tested favourite beauty products.
