Many moons ago my current business partner was lucky enough to be taken by a client and I don't think we saw him back in the office for days! The partying was legendary and the booze on the tables of epic proportions.
I also lived with a very dear friend who was involved back then in the music industry for Emap and she had a stint of at least 5 years in a row (it was probably more) of going to the Brits, the after parties and the after after parties! Hell, I think maybe one year the after after after party may even have ended up back at our Shoreditch flat! (I was probably getting up to go to work at the Discovery Channel as they were rolling back in to carry on with the merriment!) I do also recall her coming back one year with a designer chair; I think it was Philip Starck!!! I won't name and shame her but anyone reading this who knows me well, will of course know who I'm talking about and has probably sat on that chair and definitely been back to the flat in question for a party!
Anyway, my instgram has been filled today with all the lovely and lithesome 20 and 30 something female bloggers out there who are lucky enough to have been invited this year. It really does seem like bloggers (and influencers as many of them prefer to call themselves) really are todays celeb's. Hot off the back of their many VIP front row London Fashion Week appearances this week, they've no doubt been in hair and make-up all day preparing for a night on the proverbial tiles. What I wouldn't give to experience all of that one day! I hope they're soaking it up and enjoying it and getting a drunken snog later from one of the 1975. (actually did you see their outfits - pretty natty dandy chappies!)
You never know, this time next year I may well be invited! I'll be 46.5 years young by then and still rocking it! Won't I? HELL YEAH!
Style has no age limit and I intend to be a fully fledged fashionista well beyond my current "middling" 40's status. You are never too old to own your style and to flaunt it.
So with the help of my absolute favourite fashion site, Net a Porter, I've styled a few outfits that I would have loved to have had the opportunity to wear tonight!
As you all know I have a very strong inner rock chick so she loves to make an appearance whenever she can. I also like a bit of high octane glamour from time to time and of course black, leather and lace always feature high in capsule collection from Cat! Recently I've also really been loving wearing red.
This little ensemble features dress from Jonathan Simkhai , shoes from Alaia and a Dolce and Gabbana perspex clutch. I love the mix of lace, billowing sleeve detailing and the killer heels. Sassy and sexy but not remotely slutty!
The next outfit is channeling the metallic vibe which seems to have been a hot one tonight. As usual Holly Willoughby looking gorgeous styled in metallics. This one features a floor length dress from Halston Heritage, shoes from Chloe and a gorgeous clutch from Lee Savage.
And a lady in red look which is a bit more quirky. The dress is from my current favourite label, Self Portrait whilst I've gone for a very classic neutral pair of Louboutins' and a seriously cute Gucci clutch!
