In our A-Z glossary of skincare, today it’s time for a letter C.
We’re talking Ceramides which are a type of fat molecule naturally found in the top layer of the skin. Ceramides act like a barrier and can help to lock in and retain that all important moisture, so essential in the anti-ageing process.
They fortify and strengthen the skins natural barrier and protect against harmful environmental elements. Applied directly to the skin topically they can also be really effective in treating common skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
So be on the look out for ceramides as they are an important aspect in skin maintenance, rejuvenation and skin ageing, especially for us 40 plus women!
