Always like to start the working week the way I mean to go on so today, I was suited and The Kooples booted! Head to toe in fact! There’s nothing like a bit of sharp French tailoring for honing the entrepreneurial mind!
I love to feel like I’m a #bossbabe in the office! Even if I am sat opposite Ed wearing a t-shirt he’s had on all weekend!
My on and off duty wardrobe is very much inspired by Parisian street style chic.
I love sharp lines, sumptuous fabrics and giving a feminine edge to what is essentially a very masculine look. So Monday I rocked my black The Kooples suit with its leather edged detailing and my black and silver sheer silk and velvet The Kooples shirt. It’s just a little bit racy, especially when I have my Mimi Holliday bra underneath which has detailing that makes me look as though I’ve had my nipples pierced! Which I can categorically assure you I haven’t. I did once have my belly button pierced and we did not get on well. I had what my boss at the time called a "bobolink". Basically an extra belly button. So that was my venture into piercing anything other than my ears done with!
Shoes I hear you cry! I can only drive in two pairs of shoes – my The Kooples black wedged sneakers and my little M&S red suede pixie boots. Normally I sling a pair of heels in my handbag to change into. Today I had, yes, you guessed it, my The Kooples black patent stilettoes on. It’s a feisty look and what that leaves me feeling empowered and ready to #hustle!
Another day in the office with no clients, but again, that’s no excuse not to be well heeled now is it!
It’s another The Kooples suit today. This time my navy blue one with the very masculine styled low slung trousers but the crisp jacket with black satin lapel detailing. I do so love a suit with a sassy twist. I’ve teemed this with yet more The Kooples! I have a Navy blue and polka dot shirt with frill detailing. This combo is a couple of years old now but it always looks bang on trend.
Same heels as yesterday. I’m feel sharp and sophisticated but also laid back too and ready to do some deals.
They’re known as #workoutwednesday around here so more often than not I never make it out of my gym gear as I do in fact top and tail my day with exercise. I do Reformer Pilates and Metafit on Wednesday and yes, generally it’s the best night’s sleep of the week!
So I’ve started out the day in my Little Mix for USA Pro black leggings with mesh detailing (its Jessie’s range who, like me, is the one with the shapely booty) a Lorna Jane bra top and my Victoria’s Secret VS top.
I popped into the office so I had my Topshop Unique label cream and black lace up jumper and my M&S red pixie boots. Didn't get a pic today - I'm thinking of sacking the photographer anyway. He's crap even with me as his subject!!! I don't think he's worked out how to use the flash yet but we'll look back at my blog in a years time when I'm hugely successful and have my own pro tribe following me around and think - ah, those were the days! I suppose this is a reality blog so the fact that my pic's have clearly been taken by a complete amateur adds to the authenticity right!!!
Office today again and no client meetings plus a visit for a holistic massage therapy treatment. Chakras need a good old re-alignment! So I needed to wear something comfy and easy to slip out of!
Today I opted for a pair of ankle skimming The Kooples black and grey wash jeans with a long khaki green tunic. I paired this with my khaki pony skin All Saints boots which don’t get as much of an airing these days because the heel is a bit wonky due to over use. The CPW (remember ladies, this is my unique measurement system to justify how inexpensive expensive things really are) must be in negative digits!
It’s a great look and one I regularly wear when I want to be stylishly street as I call it!
No office at all today – Friday’s I tend to take advantage of my self-employed status and work from home which usually means I get lots of blogging and research done plus the floors get given a good old clean!
Today I had a girlie lunch planned in so I put on my The Kooples stretch high waist black trousers with their side paneled embellished detailing and another M&S tunic but this time in a wine colour. Actually, the same colour as the glass of Merlot I’m currently quaffing! Plus my very fluffy fake fur coat that is lovely and warm and makes me look like something out of Sesame Street – not big bird – more little bird!
So, there you have it, a week in the working wardrobe of a 40 something fashionista! Safe to say that my go to label of the week was most definitely The Kooples.
Now where is that modelling contract!!!! At least they'd have a decent photographer!!!
