I can't believe that I'm on day 17 already of my #30daysofyou journey. I've started to call it a journey now rather than a challenge because its been so enjoyable and enlightening so far.
So it's Sunday morning and I already did an hour of exercise which means I probably don’t need too much external advice when it comes to the motivation to get my body moving. But I do appreciate that for lots of women, exercise isn’t a high priority when time is precious and you have lots of family commitments. The good news is though, that you don’t need to spend hours in the gym to get results. That's just a fallacy.
What you do need to do however is workout smarter.
20 minutes is ample time, preferably 3 times a week, to achieve visible and maintainable results.
Camilla Pruitt is an Australian based personal trainer and the author of the Get Fit in 20 minutes per day programme. I’m a big advocate myself of her philosophy – intensity!! Short, sharp, highly effective and targeted body blasts. No fancy equipment.
You, your bodyweight and maybe some banging tunes!!!
Camilla recommends carrying out her programme for 4 weeks to really see results which will include feeling fitter, stronger, sleeping better, elevated mood and of course that all important fat burning effect.
All sounds like music to my ears and it’s the reason why I love exercise so much.
Her programme consists of 7 x 20 minute tailored programmes, one per day focusing on Upper Body Strength, Cardio, Core, Cardio, Lower Body Strength, Power Walk, Power Walk. So there are two days of active rest. It’s a good approach. The cardio is based around the principles of HIIT and as you all know, I love my twice weekly HIIT aka Metafit sessions with APT (Anita Albrecht) and can not recommend this kind of exercise enough for fat burning and increasing stamina.
If you’re interested in finding out more about this programme then drop me a line and look out for news coming soon of my fit in four exercise programme launching on You Tube.
