I like to think that I am a suitably fresh and funky 40 something fashionista and a self professed lover of many of the higher end high street French labels. They so perfectly fuse that edgy look that I love (skinny jeans, leathers, iconic t'shits and jumpers) with fabulously tailored suits, jackets and feminine shirts. I could and quite often do live in clothes, head to toe from The Kooples, and for the rest of my days! I'm waiting for them to pick up on my blog and give me and Franco a modelling contract! That would be flippin' hilarious!
My other half is a heady Mexican Italian mix so his choice of an OOTD for me would probably involve lycra, latex and a pair of ridiculous heels. But lets get serious, you can't go to work dressed like that can you! Well, not if you work in a small office on a main road next to an infants school in a sleepy village in Essex! I can just see the looks on the school mums faces now!
My man does however also love the French look as the skinny jeans and smart suit jacket give me just that little bit of edgy sexy street style, especially if I'm wearing stilletoes!
This for me is a typical go to look and one that I can wear just as easily for work as I can a night out, just switching up the heels/flats and changing my top.
Don't be afraid to shop in French label boutiques. Maje, The Kooples, Sandro and Zadig & Voltaire do a great range of 40's friendly but fashion forward clothing and you don't need to be super skinny to pull off the look. I'm petite yes, but curvy and their clothes fit me a treat.
A great look on a woman of any age and a main staple OOTD is the skinny leg jean, t-shirt and blazer combo. It's a super classic, effortless look that spans the ages and the French labels are simply MAGNIFIQUE at pulling together this look.
