Bored of endless plates of salad in your bid to keep those weight loss goals on track? Then try chucking everything into a juicer every now and then and literally drinking your salad.
I'm not always in the mood, nor do I have the time to physically sit down and eat lunch, so on a day when I know I've got loads of running around to do, I try and get myself organised and prepare a healthy on the go lunch. Sure it takes some discipline and you need to make sure you have time to clear up after yourself too otherwise you'll be coming home to a shit tip of a kitchen! If you are remotely OCD like me then you might need to set your alarm a tad earlier!
I can't abide coming home after a long day at work to any kind of mess. Luckily, owning my own business means that I can spend some time in the morning getting myself prepared for both the day ahead and my return home.
I CAN NOT, seriously, CAN NOT, leave the house without having made the bed! The pillows and cushions all need to be plumped and lined up exactly SO! I can't leave dishes on the side. None of this, "I'll do those when I get home tonight" and I absolutely MUST make sure that the throws and cushions on the sofa are all JUST SO!
So if you are screaming at me now and saying, but I've got kids to get out of the house, how the hell am I going to have time to make a juice and clear up after myself too, well I hear ya! Just get up earlier and whilst you're at it, do a quick 20 minutes of exercise too, biatch!!
Anyway, easy for me to say eh!
So, this is an alternative to the traditional salad on a plate and is full of wonderful vital health giving properties like potassium, folic acid, vitamin C, beta-carotene and calcium. Its a great internal cleanser and will have you pumped and full of energy.
You don't need loads of equipment - just your juicer for this one, and your chopping board and a paring knife so really, you've only got a bit of washing up to do right!!!
1 stick of celery
Handful of your choice of salad leaves - I like iceberg lettuce
Ice if you fancy it
That's it. Juice the lot, pour over ice or pop it straight into your on-the go container ready for a nutritional lunch later in the day.
When you come back home and everything is pristine, head straight to the fridge and pour yourself a glass of Sauvignon Blanc cos lady, you deserved it!
