Don't groan at me now ladies. I'm not for one minute suggesting that you do anything quite so radical as ditch your caffeine! Let's get real, without coffee, there is no real joy in life.
In my office we take the subject of our daily grind incredibly seriously. We just recently invested in a bean to cup machine and its one of our pleasures deciding which blend to try out that week. Columbian dark roast, Italian smooth mix. Selecting coffee is like selecting wine - a hint of chocolate, an undertone of caramel. Its all about the provenance don't you know!
So please, get up, have your shot of the good stuff then do yourself a favour and instead of reaching for a Danish Pastry (my own particular guilty pleasure, especially if its loaded with sticky icing!!!!) make yourself a refreshing, cleansing and zinging morning reviver juice that will pack a punch as well as plenty of flavour and have your taste buds dancing with delight!
This one is really simple, super delicious and full of vitamin C. The addition of mint gives it a distinctive flavour but also means it really aids digestive transit. After the caffeine this will be most welcome on your old system.
1 grapefruit peeled
6 mint leaves
Handful of ice
You're going to need your juicer and blender sorry! More washing up I'm afraid but hopefully the taste will make up for the effort.
Juice the grapefruit and pineapple first then transfer to the blender adding the mint and the ice. Give it a good old whizeroo, pour and enjoy. Its is pre 11am stick to it the Virgin way. Its its remotely post midday, it goes LOVELY on a warm summers afternoon with a Rum, Vodka or even a Gin chaser for a refreshing twist!
I know we're still in winter, but this will transport you immediately to somewhere fabulous and tropical!
