Its that time of year, recently coined "twixmas" when we grab that spare tyre round our middle and proclaim that 2017 is going to be the year that we finally have a six pack.
Or we look at our bank balance and declare, this year "Rodney" we will become a multi millionaire!
Some of us might want to run a marathon, set up a new side line business, publish our first novel, get onto the property ladder, have a baby. Others may be wishing for world peace!
Whatever your dreams, hopes and goals are for 2017, if you want to stand a chance of achieving them, you need to have crystal clear vision, steely determination and a well thought out plan. That or just make sure they are attainable! But that's boring right?
My other half swerves between wanting to be the best football agent the world has ever seen, and the biggest new competitor to nespresso! Actually he wants to be both simultaneously. He won't settle for anything less than spectacular success and that means he's regularly frustrated by the CURRENT (and I always stress that its only current) reality. Whilst I admire his vision and his total conviction, I do sometimes have to question his logic! But then I don't suppose logic really comes into it when you are going for your dreams.
I've been heavily into motivational and entrepreneurial books now for at least 24 months. Its actually something that Franco introduced me to. I'm a big fan of Bob Proctor, John Assaraf and Joe Vitale. As they all recommend, I've read and I re-read Napoleon Hill's Think and Grow Rich on a regular basis.
If only it were that easy. Its not yet rung true for me but I'm going to carry on with the thinking! As I figure, it definitely can't do any harm. The reality is that 2016 for me financially was a total shocker and I've been very much on the verge of personal bankruptcy and indeed had to put a company into administration this year. But I've hung in there with my sheer Northern grit and determination.
So 2017 for me is going to be THE YEAR!
The year that I get my businesses back on track.
The year that I become financially stable, independent and more than comfortable.
The year that all the hard work and frustrations I've encountered over the last 2 years of slog and toil, turn themselves around and materialise into business success, professional and personal wealth.
I have a vision board in my home office and there is a cheque on there that I wrote to myself 2 years ago today. (an idea taken and printed from the book, The Secret)
Mine said that by 24th August, 2017 I would be worth $50 million
OK so that's a tall order, agreed! But the point is that I was never meant to be rich before now.
Even I knew it wouldn't happen until 2017. So a lot is riding on this year and you are going to witness a ferociously determined, driven and highly motivated Cat as I set upon putting a chink in that rather large financial goal of mine!
Wish me luck people, I'm ready and willing for more hard work but this year I'm not taking any prisoners!
Start having a think about what your goals are for 2017.
Its such an energising experience when you take out your list from the previous year and see how much you have actually accomplished. It might have been passing your driving test, paying off a loan, learning a new language. It doesn't matter how big or small, they are all major accomplishments.
Nothing focuses the mind more than a personally accountable action list! I will be reviewing my list from 2016 on Sunday and then sitting down to commit in writing to my 2017 goals. I always make these about personal, physical and professional development as well as relationship and personality goals. I must write down every year that I want to be "less grumpy" and to have 'more patience". I think those are just going to be my ever constant life goals!
So go on girls, make a list and make it a good one. The sky is the limit and as part of the #fabfiternity I'm here to support you every step of the way in 2017 and beyond in achieving all your hopes and dreams.
