Sadly its time to step away from the mince pies ladies! Even sadder still its time to cut right back on the booze. It may have been fun but I'll wager your skin isn't thanking you for all those over indulgences today.
I've woken up looking like Deputy Dog!!! All puffy hang dog eyed. MAJOR DEHYDRATION!!!!!
I've also broken out in more than few seasonal spots.
Good news is that there are still a new more days left until New Years Eve so its time to party proof your skin.
First up, get MOISTURISING! Hungover skin is seriously ageing, you need to blanket your face in a rich hydrating cream, preferably an over-night mask, to get some moisture locked back in.
I'm trying out Pixi Nourishing Sleep Mask. Its an intensive mask to deeply hydrate your complexion over night. Packed with fruit and flower oils and hyaluronic acid to plump the skin. It's only £18.00 so put some of your Xmas money to good use! Simply apply a thin layer before you head to bed and wash off in the morning. You can use up to 2-3 times a week so I'm going to squeeze in at least 2 sessions before saturday! Bags be gone!!!
Next up, SUPPLEMENTS! Alcohol takes important moisture away from the capillaries which can lead to redness and broken blood vessels. No-one wants to look like Rudolf! Boozers nose is such a give away! So taking a good fish oil supplement at this time of year will help to lock in moisture and help your skin, hair and nails look better too. I've been taking Kyani Sunset for over a month now and my skin is lovely and dewy despite the constant flow of red wine I've been imbuing! Its a concentrated proprietary blend of EPA and DHA derived from Wild Alaskan fish oils and also contains Vitamins A, E and D. Its nothing short of AMAZING!!! You get 90 soft gel capsules for just under £40.00. Its not the cheapest but it is made from one of the purest and most potent sources of fish oil available in the world.
If you're suffering from a few seasonal BREAK OUTS then chamomile is a great option. Grab yourself a tea bag, dunk it in some water to moisten then pop it in the fridge to cool down. Simply apply to the pesky zit and repeat until the spots have been banished!
ICE ICE BABY. Yes, a good old ice cube is great for reducing localised swelling and puffiness - i.e. those designer eye bags you're currently carrying around! The flash of cold encourages blood flow and enhanced circulation which will quickly help with the puffiness.
Just a few seasonal tips from little old me to get you back on track and ready for New Years Eve.
