I’m sure I’m not the only one out there who looks in the mirror some days and thinks – holy shit!
For me its , "when did I start to look like my Dad!" LOL.
Honestly, I do a double take myself some days! Its freekin frightening how much I’m getting to look like my old Daddy Bear. Anyone who knows me, knows that I love, cherish and adore Brian & Beryl too (that’s my Mummy Bear). I affectionately call the two of them the BBD’s.
They have made me the woman that I am today – strong, loyal, independent, kind and supportive. All skills which have been called upon in bucket loads this week. I'm not gonna lie girls, it’s been one of the hardest weeks of my life so far and god knows I’ve had a few of those in my 45 years. I’m not ready to spill just yet (managed to put mascara on today for the first time since last Friday) but when I do, you’ll all be the first to know.
Anyway, what’s up today in my blogpost you’re thinking?
So just a quick heads up really on what are the 7 top age revealing problems that we women in our 40’s and beyond are constantly battling. In no particular order because they're all pretty horrific!
Lines developing on your forehead
Crows feet and lines at the corners for your eyes
Lines under your eyes along with puffiness and dark circles
Bunny lines around your nose
Mean mouth lines – hate those – make you look like you have resting bitch face
Over oily or blemish prone skin even when you are bloody 45 – those pesky hormones
Dry, patchy uneven skin
I’m sure there are more and I will be doing my best over the coming months to bring you some real solutions in the ever raging fight against anti ageing!
All tried and tested by me of course. Remember - I'm your little guinea pig!
In the meantime, here are just a couple of very handy tips before we get into the nitty gritty of what products and procedures I do recommend.
Probably don’t need to remind you of this but DRINK LOTS OF WATER. Great skin starts from within and you need to stay hydrated. Those wrinkles will literally plump themselves out if you top your body up with the good stuff.
Include some good fatty oils in your diet. Try using coconut oil and olive oil and look to take a supplement like Omega 3.
Hot water can really irritate and dry out your skin too so avoid really hot showers and baths (I’m super guilty of this – I normally come out looking like a lobster). Instead use luke warm water especially on your face.
Wear sunscreen ladies. Honestly, even in the UK where we don’t see the sun for half the year, those UV rays can still do harm.
Invest in a quality serum. More on serums another day but as you get older your skin loses its ability to hold moisture, to produce oil and therefore to heal and regenerate itself. Using a high quality serum when you are in your 40’s will seriously help with keeping those wrinkles at bay.
Hope that those were useful tips. Remember, this blog is all about real results for real women just like us. We may well be in our 40’s but we want to stay forever fabulous and I am here to help you do just that.
