I have to admit, on account of my Northern roots no doubt, that I am a bit of a pie girl! Apple pie, Blackberry pie, my Mum’s meat, and potato pie!
Actually, I’m also now officially a #piegirl having recently joined the fantastic beauty site called BeautyPie. I’m not on commission, so this is just a candid appraisal from me about the products I’ve recently been trialing and love, and I do honestly urge you to check it out too.
As you know, I’m passionate about discovering new beauty products, and I’m forever on the quest for that magic potion that will get rid of my puffy old eye bags and hormonal breakouts. Like, give me a break skin, I’m 47. It’s terooo! I’m currently sat here typing with a paper bag over my head, and the eyes cut out! Not true.
So, who ate all the pies then? I blinking well did! I’m a greedy mofo when I get going! I joined this monthly based beauty subscription service back in June, and so far I have been quite naughty and spent £238.00 on products, however, the retail value of those is £1000.00.
If you’ve not yet become a #piegirl or even #pieboy because we know you blokes love grooming products too, then it’s a site that provides you with exclusive access to luxury skincare and makeup (SANS BRAND) at members prices. A monthly membership starts from just £5 and to put it into perspective, their super retinol anti-wrinkle eye cream (which is SHAMAZING by the way) would usually cost you £65, but you only pay £6.67. So even if you have to pay £5 to be a member, you’re still saving £53.33 which is music to my ears right now.
Well gone are my frivolous days in media when I’d pop into Liberty’s or Selfridges at lunchtime and blow over £200 on a new serum from Crème de la Mer or La Prairie which I didn't really need (but then you never do!). Now that I am but a lowly writer, working from home with a hot water bottle on my knee to save on the heating bills and a candle (Beauty Pie too as it goes and no longer Jo Malone) to light my life, I’ve had to rein it in and then some! Turns out though, and who’d ever have thunk it (certainly not moi), that you don’t have to pay extortionate prices to get quality skincare that blinkin’ works. There, I said it and can probably blow that blogging contract I was hoping to get for Cult Beauty right out the water. I do love your site too, and it's a constant source of product inspiration.
Honestly, it’s fantastic, and while they claim NOT to spend money on packaging, it’s all pretty impressive looking stuff to me and opening your #beautypiehaul with that lovely pink tissue inside is every bit as exhilarating as going to the Tom Ford beauty counter used to be on those lunchtime jolly’s.
My stockpile is a little depleted but I’m just about to place a new order, and I will be revisiting and repurchasing what have already become firm favorites:
